The third stage begins with the numbers from one to ten – learned via the body list, which gives every number a fixed place in your mind. After that come the round numbers: fifty, a hundred, a thousand and percentages.
The larger part of the chapter is about quantities: a kilo, half a kilo, a hundred grams of ham, a quarter of cheese. From the number five onwards Croatian changes the ending – that is demonstrated with a single example and then applies everywhere.
Finally there are the words you need to adjust an order at the stall: more, less, a little, a lot, everything, nothing, half or the whole thing. With those you can combine freely at the market without having learned every sentence individually.
