A Few Figs, Please

To the next lesson

Par smokava, molim vas means “A few figs, please” – handy when you do not want to commit to a number.

In the shop next to you stands a couple. He is wearing a dinner jacket and his aftershave smells of the forest: couple (Paar in German), smoking jacket and forest (Wald in German) give you par smokava. Then the two of them head out to their limousine – molim vas.

Par works with anything you see at a market stall: a few tomatoes, a few onions, a few figs.
