Jedan cappuccino i croissant, molim vas means “A cappuccino and a croissant, please” – and every word in it is either already familiar or sounds much like the English one.
The only new part is jedan for “one”: in the café the waitress walks past and ignores you every time, until she finally stops. “Every time” and “then finally” give you jedan. The i for “and” is the hedgehog again, and the limousine with the vase in the moonlight closes the sentence: molim vas.
Jedan will stay with you through the whole next chapter, where the numbers begin.
