Kako ste? is the polite version of “How are you?”. Since only the ending changes, the story stays almost the same.
You meet the winemaker again, drinking tea and eating – except this time he is wearing an expensive suit and tie. That detail tells you to use the polite form. He puts his very expensive cocoa down on a table where he can see you: cocoa, cost and table give you kako ste.
This is the principle for every polite form in this course: the same image with one detail swapped out.
