Govorite li engleski? means “Do you speak English?”. In everyday speech Croatians often drop the li, so you will hear just govorite engleski – that is perfectly normal.
You are on a hiking trail, unsure which way to go, and ask somebody. The man lives in a go-kart made of wool, is enormous himself and is drinking tea: go-kart, wool, huge and tea give you govorite. In his garden, ducks are lying on a guitar and gossiping about the children walking past – ducks, guitar, gossip and children give you engleski.
So the word is not learned through its sound but through the images – which is why it still works after two weeks of not using it.
