Thank You

To the next lesson

Hvala means “thank you”. Because the word is a little awkward for German-speaking tongues, this video starts with a pronunciation tip: begin with a quiet hissing sound, add a W and let the -ala follow.

The story continues the scene with the driver: you ask him for the limousine for tomorrow, he hisses like a tiger and glares at you while everybody laughs – the hiss is the opening sound of hvala, and you say thank you.

Say the word along with Ljubica several times before moving on. It comes up again and again in this course.
