Croatian for your holiday · Chapter 1: Greetings and First Phrases

Hello

To the next lesson

The first word of the course is bog – hello. Gregor uses it to demonstrate his strategy right away: the German meaning has to be visible in the image first, and only then does the Croatian sound get added.

You are walking through Dubrovnik and somebody on the other side of the street waves and calls out. He is standing in front of a hall with a hole in its back wall – hall and hole, so “hallo”. At the entrance to the hall there is an old stone arch, and next to it stands a camel: the arch (Bogen in German) and the camel give you bog.

If it does not stick the first time, simply watch the video again. For the longer sentences later on, Gregor will go all the way down to individual letters so that even abstract words get an image.
