At 2 p.m.

To the next lesson

U četrnaest sati means “at 2 p.m.”, literally at fourteen hundred hours.

On the underground you meet a man from the Czech Republic humming a tune to himself: underground, Czech and humming (trällern in German) give you u četr. He walks out into the night, where branches are lying on the ground – night (Nacht in German) and branches (Äste in German) give you naest. And the well-fed tiger is lying there too, for sati.

Following this pattern you can build any time of day: u plus number plus sati.
