The next sentence: ¿Admiten ustedes perros?

When you ask, the receptionist comes out from behind the desk and looks at your little dog. She places an apple and a date right in the middle of its back (admiten, from the German “Apfel”, “Dattel” and “mitten”, meaning “in the middle”). The dog feels unsure, stands up on its hind legs and begs for a dessert (ustedes, from the German “unsicher” and “steht”). Instead of a dessert it gets a pearl necklace that is pink (perros, from the German “Perlen” and “rosa”).
