Liù diǎn zhōng means “six o’clock”. You already know the six, liù.
In the morning your alarm clock rings. You look at it, and on top sits a fat duck with soft feathers: diǎn (the German “die Ente” means “the duck”). Behind the duck you see a jungle on the horizon – zhōng, with a level tone. With the same duck and the same jungle you can say any other full hour too, such as eight o’clock with the swimming goggles for the eight: bā diǎn zhōng.
