Business English for Beginners · Chapter 5: At the restaurant

Today's special and the house wine

To the next lesson

The order: I’d like today’s special and a glass of the house red, please.

The waiter insists that you first swear an oath and like the restaurant (I’d like). On the table a cloth lies on a blanket with an egg on top and a snake inside – that really does look special (today’s special). You change your mind and want something else (and): a glass (a glass) together with the officers in the armchairs (of the), who are house guests here (house). On the wall hang deer that only eat dates (red), and next to them stands the policeman, reading (please).

That stores the next five sentences – in the new memory room, the car: number plate, bumper, bonnet, windscreen wiper, steering wheel, horn, stereo, boot, spare tyre, gym. Three stars are stuck to the number plate (best restaurant in the region), the menu hangs from the bumper, red and white glow on the bonnet, the recommendations scroll up the windscreen wiper, and today’s special with the house wine is written on the steering wheel.
