The next sentence: ¿Dónde está el mostrador de objetos perdidos?
Somebody points the way. There is thunder in the distance (dónde), on the shelf to the left lie branches with a cup on them, and the cup has a cable, so it is electric (está el) – the cup tells you it is está here, not están. You could heat grape must in it, with thorns sticking out (mostrador).
The man at the desk stretches, completely relaxed (de). At the top of his cupboard objects hang on a soft chain, and inside one suitcase lies an Oscar (objetos). On the suitcase is a picture of the person who won it: dressed as a servant, holding a tin with a snake in it (perdidos).
