Spanish is a beautiful and emotional language, Elena says – it is spoken very quickly, and she likes that because she enjoys talking fast and at length herself. In cafés and even on the bus people talk a lot and impulsively.
She does not have a favourite place, because every place in Spain is unique: in the north the houses have pitched roofs, in the south there are roof terraces, and food, language, culture and climate differ greatly from region to region.
What she loves about Spanish culture is the helpfulness, the friendliness and the openness – and that older people are part of the family and there are still many large families.
