Business English for Beginners · Chapter 3: At the hotel

A room with a bathtub

To the next lesson

You arrive at the hotel and state your wish right at check-in: Hello, I’d like a room with a bathtub if possible.

You step into a brightly lit lobby (hello) while eating an egg that tastes of dates (I’d); on a tablet in the lobby you like the atmosphere (like), an apple appears (a), and a free glass of rum is waiting at the bar (room). The lady at reception wipes sand to the side (with a), where models of the rooms are standing: the one at the front has a beard next to soap and a tube (bathtub), a hedgehog with figs in its spines is swimming in the water (if), and out of her back pocket she takes a sieve with a barking dog on it (possible).
